FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

North Room:

Brian Fahlstrom

October 14 - November 12, 2011

Opening Reception: Friday, October 14, 6-8pm

Brian Fahlstrom presents new paintings that wrestle with figuration and abstraction, past and present, seen and unseen. Inspired by the work of Giovanni di Paolo (1400 -1482) and Cimabue (1240 - 1302), he envisions these works as depictions of journeys both supernatural and physical. Fahlstrom uses oil paint as a conduit for mystical experience. His intensive process, delicately layered paint, and keen instinct for color, generates absorbing, sensuous paintings.

Brian Fahlstrom lives and works in Los Angeles. His work has recently been shown at Meulensteen, New York, Marc Foxx, Los Angeles, and in. His work resides in the permanent collections of the Oakland Museum of Art and the Orange County Museum of Art.
