Austin Martin White (b. 1984, Detroit, MI; lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) addresses issues of identity, race and postcolonialism through his work. He engages painting through layered, materially complex surfaces. Drawing on archival research, he reworks historical imagery—particularly from early print culture—through processes that combine painting with printmaking techniques and industrial materials such as vinyl, spray paint, and reflective fabric.

He earned a BFA from The Cooper Union in New York and an MFA from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College.

White has been exhibiting at the Gallery since 2021. He has had solo exhibitions at Petzel Gallery, New York (2025); Capitain Petzel, Berlin, Germany (2022); and T293, Rome, Italy (2021). He has also been included in group exhibitions at the Southampton Arts Center, Southampton, NY (2025); Oakland University Art Gallery, Rochester (2025); Jewish Museum, New York (2024); AND NOW, Dallas (2023); and Y2K group, New York (2021).
